Soil sampling and testing is either required or strongly recommended for most new construction projects as well as additions in northern California.
At Spartan Structural Engineering, we can make the process a smooth one, from permitting to boring to testing.
Our Soil Boring/Sampling Process
Our standard processing time is up to two weeks, with the option to request one-week rush service. Our soil-boring and sampling process begins by drilling one, or for larger projects, multiple borings up to 20 feet deep to obtain representative subsurface samples. This field portion typically takes one day.
The collected samples are then delivered to our lab, where we evaluate soil strength, classify soil types, and test characteristics such as moisture content. Using the test results, we prepare a comprehensive geotechnical report summarizing the subsurface conditions and engineering recommendations, which is usually completed within one week of the boring.
A digital copy of the final report is then provided to the client.
